After showing a lot of promise, albeit with mixed results, at our early season head races, everything came together for an incredible showing from both squads at Fours Head. Womens Academic Quad: 2nd Starting with the women’s squad, the 4x- of Charlie Widdowson, Finli O’Donoghue, Bekah Hagan and Lucy Fraser beat the club’s previous best finish of 261st in 2016 by placing 224th overall, narrowly missing out on victory in the Women’s Academic 4x- category to Reading University

Before we head off to Fours Head, let’s have a look at how the club has gotten on in our early season head races. Chester Long Distance Sculls LUBC rounded off their pre-season with Chester LDS on the 26th of September and put in a strong contingent of crews. In division 1, the M1xs of Scott Marshall, Callum Kemp and William Jackson (the latter his first ever race in a single scull) posted competitive times in band 2 and 3 with Alumnus and Head Coach Patrick Home winning in B
