LEARN TO COX
INTERESTED IN COXING?
The job of a coxswain is to steer the boat safely, improve rowing technique and motivate the rowers.
Coxing is a highly technical role. It requires a person who is calm under pressure; able to make quick decisions and stay positive under challenging circumstances.
If you have any previous experience or would like to be taught how to cox please contact our cox captain Hannah!

TESTIMONIALS
ERIN, SOCIAL SECRETARY
(NOVICE YEAR 2025/26)
"I’VE NEVER BEEN PARTICULARLY SPORTY, BUT I AM VERY COMPETITIVE AND DEFINITELY NOT SHORT OF A LOUD VOICE, SO WHEN I SAW THE CHANCE TO COX, I THOUGHT I MIGHT AS WELL GIVE IT A GO. MY ADVICE TO FRESHERS IS TO THROW YOURSELF INTO EVERYTHING, EVEN IF IT SOUNDS SLIGHTLY UNHINGED, AND GO TO ALL THE SOCIALS. JOINING LUBC HAS HONESTLY MADE MY UNI EXPERIENCE AND I'VE MET SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS THROUGH IT."
